Get ready to be blown away by the majestic beauty + palpable energy of the mountains.

Deià is a destination that will quite simply take your breath away. The larger than life, towering mountains, combined with gorgeous, rugged beaches and lush green fertile landscape, creates a natural paradise beaming with life. Deià truly feels like the holy land, and even for the spiritually uninclined, the high vibration energy in the air is undeniable. You would never believe that this magical oasis exists only a short forty minute drive from Palma, Mallorca’s major city where you will likely fly or ferry into. Palma, by the way, is a GORGEOUS, vibrant, very livable city and reminds us of a mini Barcelona, but without so many tourists. We urge you to experience Palma for at least a night or two before taking your journey to peaceful Deià. We stayed at the Can Bordoy and cannot recommend it enough!

With a population of only 752 people, Deià is literally a tiny gem of a place with a very tight knit local community. Many of the local residents are comprised of creatives and artists, and it has been that way for quite some time. Art is a huge part of the history and culture of Deià; that importance has been integrated into many aspects of The Belmond Residencia, where we had the absolute pleasure of staying for three nights. Gorgeous artwork is prominently showcased throughout the property, and if you feel inspired, there is both a ceramics and painting studio where local artists in residence can give you a one-on -one or group lesson.

The Belmond Residencia is out of this world beautiful. Perfectly situated amongst the mountains, abundant in olive trees, and overlooking the ocean, this place cannot be beat. With a backdrop so otherworldly, you would think the property would be set back and removed from civilization, but when you walk out of the gate you are literally right in the charming town of Deià with many world class, absolutely delicious restaurants, a yoga and pilates studio, boutiques and a wild and crazy fun locals bar only steps away!

STAY:

The Belmond Residencia: We truly can't recommend this dreamy bucket list hotel enough and are so grateful to our most trusted travel agent Two Nights In for recommending / booking it for us.

EAT:

It is shocking how many delicious and varied restaurants exist in the tiny town of Deià. We enjoyed every single meal we had, starting with the beautiful breakfast spread from The Belmond Residencia that we indulged in every day. We woke up eager to enjoy fresh figs, local fruit, regional specialties and pastries, smoked salmon and the most delicious bread every morning, We ate at a few restaurants that we absolutely loved, but we have a good feeling that you can’t really go wrong in Deià.

You MUST go to Ca’s Patro March for lunch with the most beautiful view! Hike, bike or hitch a ride down to this seaside gem and enjoy fresh seafood, salads, and really anything you could ever want to eat with a bottle of chilled white wine… is there anything better?! Don’t miss the garlic shrimp which came to the table sizzling and smelling like heaven!!! Remember to make a reservation in advance and to make sure you’re prepared that they only accept cash.

After lunch, relax at the rocky beach below and if you’re like us, spend the afternoon plotting how you’re going to move to Mallorca :)

Nama: Organic Asian fusion that will blow you away in the most gorgeous setting! Go for lunch or dinner, just make sure to go before sunset so you can take in spectacular view of the mountains. We ordered the crispy duck and literally licked the plate! Was so good we would have gone twice in our short stay but convinced ourselves to try something new.

Xelini: Delicious, authentic tapas and great service! Every item we ordered was perfectly prepared and great portion size. Request a table on the outdoor patio for extra romantic vibe.

Sa Vinya: You can’t visit Spain without eating Paella, and Sa Vinya is the place to do just that. The portion is massive, but we really could not help ourselves and almost polished the whole thing off… it really is THAT good. We also recommend their delicious salads to start.

Drink/ party:

Sa Fonda: The local’s bar of our dreams. Unassuming cafe by day (we hear they have a great burger!), this place goes OFFFFF at night with a live DJ, dancing and an amazing local party vibe!

Enjoying live music at The Belmond Residencia during sunset on their dreamy patio, sipping an Aperol spritz, eating a charcuterie and cheese plate is simply where its at.

Yoga:

Mountain Wellness: We didn't have time to take a class at this charming local studio, but from the looks of it, it is pretty dreamy.

spa:

The Belmond Residencia has a beautiful indoor pool. outdoor jacuzzi and a vast selection of heavenly spa treatments to choose from. We were treated to the signature Citrus Siesta, which used ground up olive pits and olive oil from the local olive trees to gently exfoliate and hydrate the skin, followed by a very relaxing and tranquil zen massage.

excursion:

Take a short 20 minute drive to the spectacular port town of Soller. The Belmond Residencia has a free boat ride that you can sign up for, and they provide transportation to and from the port. We decided to drive separately so we could stay and explore the gorgeous city of Soller and we’re so glad we did! We discovered the GLOWIEST organic cafe and eco market, Re Organic that we fell in love with and ended the excursion with the most refreshing gelato that we’re still dreaming about.
